Welcome to England!!

We boarded Eurostar from Gare du Nord station in Paris to St Pancras station in London and it took less than 3 hours to reach the destination. At the departure in Gare du Nord, we first have to clear the immigration from the French authorities. Very soon we get into the UK immigration post, clear the immigration formalities and board the train to London. Upon arrival at London, we hired the London Taxi to our hotel at Lancaster Gate.

Day 1, we used buses and underground tubes and trams to see the beautiful city of London.

Westminster Abbey and Palace are of great significance in England. The Royal weddings and burials of the members of the Royal family are held here, including that of Diana, the Princess of Wales.

The next stop was at the Big Ben - The clock tower near the Westminster Palace, an iconic symbol of England

We walked by the River Thames, saw the London Eye and enjoyed the sights of this old city. The evening stroll was refreshing and we had our first tube ride to go back to the hotel

On Day 2, we took a city sight seeing hop on hop off bus tour to explore the city sights.

Marble Arch - A beautiful arch made of marble

Trafalgar Square - A public square in Westminster

We then reached the beautiful complex of Buckingham Palace and were delighted to know that this was the time when public entry was permitted to the Palace interiors. We were amazed by the grandeur of the palace rooms, got to see the wedding dress of the royal couple, some of the impressive royal collections and several state rooms in the Palace. Photography is not allowed inside, so here you can see the pictures taken from the exterior of the Palace.

Next to the palace is the 'Diana Walk' a beautiful surrounding with lakes and gardens in the memories of Princess Diana

We strolled around the Piccadilly Circus, grabbed our lunch and then had a view of the St Pauls Cathedral and The British Museum

We then visited the Tower Bridge in the evening and spent time walking around the place and enjoying the views around
