We all agree, the only agenda for a trip to Goa is simply to have a good time!!!
There were no elaborate plans, no rush; the focus was solely on indulging in food, drinks, and fun, because Goa is the perfect place for just that.
This is trip is special one for us and we did it with our best friends, Sony, Asha and Aaron. This trip was in our minds from last year Aug when both the families met and from then, we spoke a lot about it and finally made it happen :)
On Day 1, we arrived in Goa, hired a taxi to North Goa where our hotel was located. Despite heavy rain, we didn't let it dampen our spirits. Unable to do much of outdoor sightseeing, we decided to visit shacks and pubs instead.
We decided to have lunch at Purple Matrini, located on a cliff top in Anjuna. We savoured the beautiful views of Arabian Sea, the Santorini-inspired interiors, and especially the live music. The food and drinks were also fantastic.
We then proceeded to Aguada Fort. As soon as we got out of the car, heavy rain began, prompting us to purchase raincoats. The downpour lasted for nearly an hour. Despite the weather, we managed to wander around and thoroughly explore the fort.
Later on, we went to Baga beach to experience the nightlife of North Goa. We chose to go to Tito's Club. Although kids can dine in the restaurant, they are not allowed on the dance floor. The ambiance of the venue got better as the night progressed. The food was excellent, the music was fantastic, and there was a lot of dancing and fun, along with magic shows and an amazing crowd. We stayed there well past midnight before heading back to our hotel to get some rest.
On Day 2, we enjoyed pleasant weather, perfect for our exploration of Goa. While there were occasional showers, they quickly passed, allowing us to enjoy good sunshine. I was finally able to wear my goggles :)
We reached Panjim, began the day by visiting Dona Paula, a well-known spot in Goa where many movies have been filmed. With its stunning views of the sea, it's a great place to relax and enjoy some time. After a brief pause for photos at Miramar beach, we proceeded to the historic Portuguese church.
Fontainhas in Old Goa, Panjim is a charming area where Portuguese-style homes can be admired. While some houses are still occupied by residents, others have been transformed into delightful cafes and restaurants. Taking a leisurely stroll around this neighbourhood allows one to immerse in the Portuguese ambiance that permeates the area.
After lunch, we went to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, where the body of St Francis Xavier is preserved and has been there for over 500 years. Adjacent to the Basilica is the archaeological museum showcasing various artifacts from Goa.
The next destination was the Shree Mangueshi Temple, devoted to Lord Shiva. Along the path from the parking area to the temple, there are numerous souvenir shops offering a variety of local and decorative items for sale.
At last, we reached our accommodation - Mosh by The Shore in South Goa, completed the check-in process, had dinner, and went to sleep.
Our Day 3, we began with a visit to the beach where we soaked up the sun, enjoyed the sand, and took numerous photos.
After breakfast, we headed to the renowned Cabo de Rama fort in Canacona, South Goa. The fort covers a large area, allowing us to wander around and admire the stunning sea views from various picturesque locations.
We had lunch at The Cape Goa, a well-known resort perched on a cliff in South Goa, providing stunning views of the Arabian Sea. We patiently waited for about 45 minutes to secure seats overlooking the sea. Despite the wait, we found the view to be truly worth it. We had a variety of delicious food and drinks, took numerous photos, savoured the fantastic atmosphere, enjoyed live music, and overall had a wonderful experience.
Before leaving Goa, that was the final destination of our trip.
Our experience of the food in Goa was delightful. The local dishes, whether vegetarian or non-vegetarian, were exceptional. Enjoyed the bun, bhaji panv, kokum sharbat and all curries of Goa. Find some culinary experiences and pictures from various restaurants.
Overall, Goa is a must-visit destination, particularly with friends who resonate with you on a fantastic level :) Also I loved the dreamcatcher bought from one of the many souvenir shops out there...
